POWER OUTAGE UPDATE
Power Restoration -- New Town/Green St & 1st Peninsula Area

NSP Crew members have restored power in the impacted areas of 1st Peninsula, New Town/Green St. We thank you for your patience and the NSP crews working out in that windy and wet weather! If you continue to experience power issues, please report in at the numbers provided below.

New Town/Green St & 1st Peninsula Area
Tues March 17, 2026 - 12:15 pm
NSP Crew members are continuing to patrol and work to restore power in the impacted areas of 1st Pensilua, New Town/Green St. They will look to restore power in smaller sections of these areas to help with load distribution.

We have been notified of multiple power outages in the New Town area. Nova Scotia Power has been notified and will be out to investigate shortly.
There is currently no estimated time for service to be restored, and more details will be provided when available.

TOWN OF LUNENBURG NOTICE OF BY-LAW APPROVAL

At its meeting on March 10, 2026, the Town of Lunenburg Council approved the Short-Term Accommodation Levy By-law.
The by-law establishes a 3% levy on short-term accommodations, including hotels, inns, bed and breakfasts, and short-term rentals listed on platforms such as Airbnb or similar services. The levy is paid by visitors at the time of booking and supports tourism promotion initiatives in accordance with the Municipal Government Act.
The by-law will take effect January 1, 2027.
