Special Council Meeting Notice

Town of Lunenburg Council has called a Special Council Meeting for Monday, June 22, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. in Council Chambers at Town Hall.

The sole purpose of the meeting is for Council to consider a motion to move into a closed session to receive legal advice eligible for solicitor-client privilege, as permitted under the Municipal Government Act.

Municipal legislation requires Council to first meet in public and pass a motion before moving into a closed session. As a result, the meeting will begin in open session; however, this portion of the meeting is expected to be brief before Council moves into the private session.

The purpose of the closed session is for Council to receive legal advice. While Council may discuss certain confidential matters in a closed session as permitted by legislation, decisions of Council are generally made in public meetings.

Due to the nature of the meeting and the fact that Council will immediately be considering a motion to enter closed session, the meeting will not be livestreamed.

The meeting agenda is available here:  pdf 06 22 2026 Special Council Agenda(136 KB)

Questions may be directed to:
