On Sunday, the Town of Lunenburg Electric Utility along with Nova Scotia Power contractors successfully performed work to complete repairs to the Main Transformer at the Starr Street Substation. Thank you to Nova Scotia Power crew members for their hard work and ensuring the repairs were done on time.

And thank you to all of the residents and businesses affected by the planned outage. Being without power – planned or unplanned – is undoubtedly an inconvenience and your patience, understanding and cooperation during this most recent planned outage is truly appreciated.

Municipal Buildings Closed Wednesday, September 30

Lunenburg Town Hall, Arena and Community Centre will be CLOSED on Wednesday, September 30 in honour of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

Buildings will re-open on Thursday, October 1.

Tonight’s Town of Lunenburg Electric Utility planned power outage is to complete repairs to the Main Transformer at the Starr Street Substation and will run from 11:00 pm, Sunday, September 27, 2026 to approximately 5:00 am, Monday, September 28, 2026.
 
Please take a moment to connect with any friends or neighbours you think may not be aware of tonight’s planned outage. Also, be sure to charge any devices you may need during the outage.
