Public Works recently installed a new convex mirror at the corner of Prince & Creighton Streets to help enhance sightlines for road users. The lack of sightlines was identified as an issue, particularly for traffic approaching the intersection from west and south directions.
Convex mirrors are a technique regularly used to remove blind spots and expand visibility due to the configuration of the road and/or surrounding areas.
Other locations in Lunenburg where similar mirrors are present to assist with vision and safety include:
- Lincoln Street & Cornwallis Street
- Lincoln Street & Duke Street
- Lincoln Street & Lower Street
- Falkland Street & Station Lane
Additionally, Town Staff shall continue our work into exploring the viability of installing four-way stop intersections along Creighton at both Cornwallis and Prince as direction received from Council on April 15.
