Public Works crews will be conducting water distribution system maintenance by flushing hydrants the nights of November 7 & 8, 2025. This is an annual maintenance procedure.

Friday November 7th starting 9pm overnight to 6am - New Town
Saturday November 8th starting 9pm overnight to 6am - Old Town

Please note:

- Water pressure: Water service will remain ON during the maintenance period, but pressure may
  be irregular or there may be intermittent service disruption.

- Discoloured water: The work may cause temporarily discoloured water due to sediment.
  The Lunenburg Water Utility recommends that customers avoid using the water for drinking/cooking
  purposes until the water is clear. The water remains safe for showering, bathing, cleaning and
  flushing toilets, although you may wish to avoid laundry and dish washers at this time.

- The Utility suggests homeowners shut off the water supply valve to hot water heaters to avoid
   sediment getting into the tank. In the morning run your cold water taps until the water is clear.

The Town of Lunenburg regrets any inconvenience created during hydrant flushing.
