It was a beautiful day yesterday for the Town's 5th annual Mi'kmaq Grand Council Flag raising. If you weren't able to make it out, a video is now posted to the Town's YouTube page.
The flag was raised in honour of Mi'kmaq History Month, Treaty Day, and the National Day for Truth & Reconciliation.
Mayor Matt Risser was joined by Indigenous Rights lawyer Houston Barnaby and Elder Todd Labrador, his daughter Melissa Labrador, and her children (direct descendants of the original Labrador family in what became Lunenburg).
