NEW: Snow Removal on King & Lincoln Streets
Mar 4th from 6-10AM
Public Works is planning additional snow removal work on Saturday morning. This will affect King Street (between Montague and Cumberland) and Lincoln Street (between King and Cornwallis).
Temporary road closures will be in place around the work zone. Those who usually park within the work zone during this time should find an alternative location to allow crews to complete their work. Road users should use caution and follow signage if travelling through these areas.
In the Town of Lunenburg, the RCMP enforce the Nova Scotia Motor Vehicle Act winter parking ban which:
- Prohibits parking or leaving a motor vehicle, whether attended or unattended, on any street that might interfere with or obstruct snow removal, or winter maintenance;
- Authorizes a Police Officer to have a motor vehicle moved or towed to some other place if it interferes with or obstructs snow removal or winter maintenance; and
- Provides that the cost of moving or towing motor vehicle can be recovered from the owner.
Please also remove potential obstacles to the sidewalk plow such as signs, planters, furniture, solid waste, etc.
The Town cannot guarantee the security of vehicles left out during snow clearing. For parking locations where you can move your car, see here:https://townoflunenburg.ca/parking.html
The cooperation of all drivers, businesses and residents is appreciated!
