The Town of Lunenburg is looking for community-minded residents to fill vacancies on three of our advisory committees. These volunteer positions offer a unique chance to help shape our town’s future in areas like planning, financial oversight, and water protection.
Committee Vacancies:
- Planning Advisory Committee (PAC) – Seeking two residents to advise Council on planning and development matters, including reviewing the Municipal Planning Strategy and Land Use By-law. PAC members help ensure town planning aligns with community needs and values. Time commitment: Every other month, with additional meetings as required.
- Audit Committee – Seeking one resident with a background in finance or accounting to review the Town’s financial statements and internal controls alongside the Town Auditor, supporting transparency and fiscal responsibility. Time commitment: Typically twice a year.
- Source Water Protection Advisory Committee – Seeking two residents of the Dares Lake area to help protect the Dares Lake Watershed, ensuring a safe, clean water supply for Lunenburg and surrounding areas. Time commitment: Every other month or as required (schedule to be finalized).
