At the March 25, 2025 meeting, the Town of Lunenburg Council will be discussing a proposed electricity rate increase that is required to support much needed capital investment for the town’s electrical infrastructure.

The rate application includes an increase of 11.3 percent for Domestic customers (individual households) and a 21 percent increase for Commercial (business) customers. If approved by Council, the proposal is anticipated to go before the NS Utility and Review Board in the summer of 2025 and the increases, if approved, would come into effect in the fall of 2025.
