Today, the federal government announced that the Town of Lunenburg will receive more than $1.1 million to support its Action Plan which commits to six local initiatives that will result in a total of 135 new units over the next three years.
Mayor Jamie Myra has this to say:
"As Mayor of Lunenburg, I extend my sincere thanks to the federal government for their invaluable support in funding the creation of new housing in our area. This initiative stands as a testament to the Canadian government's commitment to address the urgent need for affordable and accessible housing in communities like ours. With this funding, we are empowered to not only provide shelter but also to foster vibrant and inclusive communities where families can thrive and grow.
The Town of Lunenburg has committed to six initiatives that will result in a total of 135 new units over the next three years which will go a long way in helping us meet our projected needs.
The investment highlights the importance of collaboration between various levels of government to deliver genuine benefits to our citizens. By prioritizing initiatives that enhance the quality of life for all residents, we are laying the foundation for a stronger, more resilient community now, and for future generations.
Together, we are not only building houses; we are building futures, creating opportunities, and ensuring that Lunenburg remains a place that people are proud to call home."
