Thursday, November 30 - Lunenburg Fire Hall, 25 Medway Street - 6:00PM - 9:00PM
Consultants Vigilant Atlantic will present three (3) design concepts for a possible redesign of Civic Square. This public workshop is to gather public feedback. They will then present the concepts to Council and the public feedback in a ‘What we heard report”.
The project is driven by the need to make public places accessible by 2030 in keeping with the provincial initiative to have an accessible Nova Scotia by 2030. We also have the unique challenge of maintaining our heritage designation.
The goal is to create a barrier-free Civic Square in keeping with the Province’s Built Environment Standards and CSA B651-18. It must also complement the heritage values and enhance the World Heritage-listed Old Town Lunenburg Heritage Conservation District..
This will help the Town have a better understanding of the costs associated with the project to help us apply to funding agencies and be “shovel ready” should Council wish to proceed.
