The Town of Lunenburg announces that Jamie Myra has been declared the winner of the Lunenburg Special Mayoral Election. Mr. Myra received 811 votes while the runner-up, Gale Fullerton, received 377 votes.
At the end of poll closing at 7PM on Saturday, August 12, Lunenburg had 2021 eligible voters.
Voter turnout was 59% percent.
Voter turnout in the 2020 general election was 64.1%
The Mayor-elect will be sworn in at the next Council meeting on Tuesday, September 12 at 6:00PM.
Acting Mayor Peter Mosher will continue to serve in that capacity until the time that the Mayor-elect is sworn in. The Acting Mayor will then resume his duties as Deputy Mayor.
